"Home Building Made Easy"
is the main objective of Thieneman Builders Incorporated in Floyds
Knobs, Indiana. Brothers Don and Steve Thieneman take pride in
assuring customers a quality home from a wide spectrum of pricing.
Don and Steve have been around building all their lives, from first
learning to walk at job sites to later driving concrete trucks for
their father at Corydon Concrete (presently IMI) they were raised
with construction in their blood. Having grown up around the
concrete business, they decided to indulge in a small foundation
business venture together in 1986, forming the base company
Thieneman Concrete Walls Incorporated. Thieneman Concrete Walls, is
known for putting in footers and foundations around southern Indiana
for themselves and other contractors. When Don and Steve felt it was
time to expand, they added the second company, SDR Development
Incorporated, in 1993. This company was set aside strictly for the
preparation and development of building lots. After having
researched the home building system, the third company, Thieneman
Builders Incorporated, was born in 1995. “I had the dream of
starting a building business where we would be ‘hands-on’ on a daily
basis”, said Steve.
Thieneman Builders has worked tremendously to grow to a bigger and
better business for the future. “We want our customers and
colleagues to know that in 10 or 20 years we will still be around”
says Steve, “This is why we offer such a range of homes”. Thieneman
Builders has completed all the homes in three of their developments;
Borden Ridge in Borden, Forest Springs in Floyds Knobs and The
Fields of Lancassange in Jeffersonville. They are currently working
on six developments all in southern Indiana; The Oaks V in
Georgetown, West Oaks in Georgetown, Westridge Forest off of Highway
62 near Lanesville, Summit Springs in Corydon, Heritage Springs in
Greenville and the newest Woodford Farms in Charlestown. The homes
in these developments range from 1,124 square feet in Woodford Farms
to 3,095 square feet in Westridge Forest and are priced from
$117,900 - $300,000 and up respectively. With great flexibility to
offer such a range in pricing, Thieneman Builders can provide a home
to a family no matter what stage of life they are in.
You may be asking yourself why Don and Steve do all of this. The
answer is simple: They are driven by good nature. “We want to help
as many people purchase a home as we possibly can” explains Don. “By
being a hands-on, one-stop shop, we can give people the best quality
with ease and still be within their means”. The Thieneman brothers
have spent many years experimenting with different subcontractors
and have found a group of people that share the same high standards
and views as themselves. “We want our people to support us, as we
will them. We have to know that when we need them they will be there
and when the next house starts they know we will call on them for
the job” said Don. “Steve, our staff and I spend more time with our
subs and their employees than we do at home. We need to feel like a
family. I would never ask someone to do something that I wouldn't
do. If it means digging a ditch or cleaning, I will do whatever it
takes to have a quality finished product with the Thieneman name on
it.”
All aspects of the Thieneman Companies revolve around making a home
purchase go as smoothly as possible; we are a one-stop shop. To
assure the customer that they have all their questions answered,
Thieneman Builders has many avenues and lifelines. The customer can
call our office staff, which will assist in all of the choices of
their home or they can direct them to where they need to be. Many of
the subcontractors and supplies are even willing to meet our
customers on the job site. “We want the home buyer to have a fuzzy,
warm feeling about the people that are working in and around their
home. We want everyone to have a good feeling about our work, and
us.” said Don. Thieneman Builders will offer their customers a
simple home-buying plan and take all the intimidation out of the
purchasing process. Whether the customer is buying a spec home or
building a full custom home, they will be satisfied.
Both Don and Steve Thieneman are actively affiliated with several
local and national associations. Thieneman Concrete and Thieneman
Builders became members of the National Association of Home Builders
upon becoming members of the Home Builders Association of Southern
Indiana. Thieneman Concrete has been an associate member since
October of 1990 and Thieneman Builders since January of 1997.
Thieneman Builders is listed with the Southern Indiana Chamber of
Commerce serving Clark and Floyd Counties.
Furthermore Don and Steve are both Registered Builders with Southern
Indiana Home Builders Association. Don has held the Vice President
position in 2000 and the Associations President position in 2001. To
obtain a Registered Builder certification, a builder must meet
certain criteria. The builder must provide the names of 10
previously built homes where the customer can be interviewed and
they must contribute 20 credit hours of time to instructional
classes. These classes inform builders how to better deal with
potential buyers, new strategies for floor plans, and how to better
themselves as builders. Builders must then attend scheduled classes
on a yearly basis to maintain their certification.
Thieneman Builders Inc. has also been blessed with being listed
several times in “Business First of Louisville”, in 2006 we were
ranked at #6, in 2003 we ranked #3, then in 2004, 2005 & 2006 we
were listed at #5 for the Home Builders division. Also in 2004 for
the first time Don and Steve through DSD Development LLC., (a
residential development company they started in 2002) hosted the
“Southern Indiana Home Show” in their Oaks V Development in
Georgetown. They built two homes themselves for that show “The
Springhurst” and “The Beaumont”. They were extremely blessed and
honored that The Beaumont won “Best Overall Construction” and “Best
Family Entertainment Area” that year as it was also the first time
they had taken on the challenge of not only their “First home show
house” but had doubled that challenge with both homes in the same
show.
As you’ve read being challenged and having a goal to work toward a
better company in the future is what Thieneman Builders is truly all
about. All of us here at Thieneman Builders along with Don and Steve
would be honored to assist you and your family with your next home. |
